COVID-19 Info

Dear Running with Ed and PCEF Community:

Thank you for making Running with Ed one of Park City’s most beloved events. Today, we are reaching out during this unprecedented global crisis to let you know we are following CDC guidelines and cancelling this year’s Running with Ed race on May 16th.

Cancelling Running with Ed means our school community is losing $280,000 in funding. But we know our community, as it always does, will rise up to insure the success of every teacher and student.

PCEF’s support of students and teachers will not waver. With your help, we will remain adaptive, responsive, and nimble to meet our students and teachers immediate, short-term and long-term needs.

We are increasing PCEF’s Express Grant Fund by $50,000 to support immediate teacher and student at-home schooling needs. This fund will be available to provide:

  • Classroom basics for low-income families
  • Teacher funds for new ed-tech resources
  • Low tech supplies for home off-screen learning
  • Needs yet to be identified as the COVID-19 crisis unfolds

Will you consider changing your runner registration into a runner donation to help our teachers and students navigate this new normal?

If every runner turned their registration into a donation, we’d have $20,000 toward the fund!

Because of you, we have worked hand in hand with our teachers for 32 years. Even with the loss of $280,000, YOU can ensure PCEF provides COVID-19 learning support for teachers and students – right now.

In times of financial uncertainty, any and all help is welcome. If you prefer a refund of your registration fee, please email your request to by April 10th.

Thank you for your support of RWE, PCEF and the teachers and students of Park City. We look forward to RWE 2021 on May 22nd!

With gratitude,

The RWE Committee

PS: We are grateful to our RWE sponsors who are still supporting students and teachers, even without an actual race!  Please join them in supporting Park City’s teachers and students.
